The pool of discussions brings about several fruitful partnerships and exchange programs, between foreign and domestic universities, institutions and consultants.

CONCERN in Present Scenario

The number of Indian students going overseas to study rose a stunning 256% – from 53,266 to 189,629 – in just nine years (2000-2009) according to a study called “Indian student mobility to selected European countries”, an overview by researchers at one of India’s top business schools, the Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore.

This is welcome news for the many institutions in Europe and North America that are the main recipients of Indian students, but it is also cause for concern in some quarters in India.

Other sources, such as the UNESCO Institute of Statistics and the Institute of International Education, put the number of Indian students studying abroad in 2010-2011 in the range of 200,000 which is much more in line with the estimates.

In 2012, 64 per cent of International students in the US hailed from Asia, 11.2% from Europe, 8.4% from Latin America, and 7.4% from the Middle East.

The leading sending nations were China and India, comprising 25.4% and 13.1% of all foreign students, respectively.

Long since, there has been a dire need for a platform that brings together Indian universities closer to the students of the world, at large. There has been a rise in the enrolment of international students in Indian Universities from 13, 267 in 2004-05 to 21,000 in 2008-09 on the other hand the number of American students studying in India grew by a whopping 44.4% from 2,690 last year to 3,884 in 2011. There has been a lack of proper channel for interaction between Universities, education consultants and students on a global level. CONCERN 2013 has bridged the gap between educational institutions and consultants so as to facilitate maximum interaction during this international symposium.

This year CONCERN has taken the agenda of the need of Reform in education sector. The industry needs immediate reforms and CONCERN is working on ground to pave the path for meeting of ideologies and thoughts of masses with the concerned authorities. This year we also bring on table the “Youths Perspective” and how they can bring visionary changes in our education system.

CONCERN 2014 is a golden opportunity for Institutions, educationists and the youth of the Nation to come together under one roof so as to discussion the burning issues in education sector. The event provides platform to spread their networks and form business collaborations with other participants.
